KUCHING: Sarawak will soon have a One-Stop Centre for Children with Special Needs to cater for needy families with intellectually-challenged children.
Minister of Welfare, Community Well Being, Women, Family and Childhood Development Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah said the State Cabinet approved the setting-up of the centre during its cabinet meeting.

KUCHING: The teaching of mathematics and science in English programme is estimated to cost Sarawak government RM31 million.
Minister of Education, Science and Technological Research Dato Sri Michael Manyin said this cost covers training of teachers and printing of textbooks which takes effect in all primary schools, except Chinese-medium schools, in Sarawak next year.
?We will need to train 3,000 teachers across 900 schools for the teaching of Science and Maths in English. As for the Chinese schools, they have indicated that they do not want to join in this programme.

KUCHING: A DAP assemblyman has rubbished a Sarawak minister?s allegation against Putrajaya for making a U-turn on the repair of dilapidated schools in the state.
Kota Sentosa assemblyman Chong Chieng Jen, in reply to a question by See Chee How (PKR-Batu Lintang) at the Sarawak assembly today, said Putrajaya had in principle agreed that the Sarawak government?s RM1 billion debt with the federal government could be used to upgrade the dilapidated schools in the state.

Putrajaya has approved RM5.5 billion for the construction of a 415km-long road from Sarawak all the way to the northern tip of Borneo in Sabah, Works Minister Baru Bian disclosed ahead of the Pakatan Harapan federal government?s first anniversary.
